To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. — Titus 1-15
Thoughts on Verse (Titus 1-15)
Rust stains, grass stains, blood stains, chocolate stains – ARGH! Those stains in the laundry room are literally a nightmare. Not only do they leave stains on the surface of clothing, but they also leave a residue that penetrates the fibers of our clothing. Evil is like that. We should not make fun of ourselves. Evil corrupts and leaves a residue that corrupts everything it touches, including the hearts of otherwise decent people. That is why we are urged to distance ourselves from evil and avoid its presence. That is why Jesus died: not only to defeat the evil one but also to cleanse the stain and the remains of him.
My Prayer
Father, protect my path and give me good Christian friends to help protect my life from evil. Furthermore, dear Father, please help me as I seek to share the purifying and liberating power of Christ with those around me who are entangled in the destructive and deceptive clutches of evil. In the name of Jesus, I pray. so be it.
