Just like Joshua and the Israelites, it’s important to remember that God gave us His rules to help us and make our lives better. These rules were given to guide the Israelites on how to live according to God’s plan every day. If they followed God’s way, He promised good things would happen to them. God is also the Creator, so He knows the best way for people to live in harmony with how the world works. His rules weren’t meant to stop people from being happy. Instead, they were meant to help them do well and succeed in life.
In the book of Galatians, Paul reminds us that we don’t have to follow these rules in the same way as they did in the past. Instead, as we follow the Spirit, we become more like Jesus, who followed the rules perfectly, and this brings us the good things God always wanted for us. In simple words: Doing what God wants and being like Him is a good thing for us!
